Vanity Furniture - Accent Your Bedroom Design

In days gone by, bedroom suits always included vanity furniture in the mix.  Typically, the set would include a bed, night table, dresser with mirror, chest of drawers, a makeup vanity, and a bench, stool, or chair.  However, as time marched on, vanities soon fell out of favor and were eliminated from bedroom suits in favor of more modern pieces that appealed to both men and women.  Today, vanity furniture is making a come back and is becoming increasingly popular in bedrooms of individuals of all ages.  From grown women to little girls, having a vanity in your bedroom can not only accent the design of your room, but also serve as a special spot to apply make up or just focus on yourself for a few minutes of each day.

Vanity Tables Versus Vanity Cabinets

Typically, vanities in days gone by were a mix between a table and a cabinet.  Often, these vanities included limited storage for cosmetics and beauty products, but generally consisted of a table top.  Depending on your needs, you may want to choose vanity furniture based on function rather than style.  Although vanity tables may have that clean, sophisticated look you are seeking for your bedroom, it will not have ample storage for your items.  If this is the case, consider purchasing a small cabinet to store your necessities to keep everything out of sight.

Regardless if you choose vanity tables or vanity cabinets for the design of your room, be sure to look into the common accessories.  These accessories include a quality mirror, bench, stool, or chair, and appropriate lighting.
