Adding simple, inexpensive vanity accessories is the easiest way to take a ho-hum room and turn it into a designer’s dream.  Imagine a dining room without a stunning light fixture or a family room with pictures of your grinning family.  Without these extra touches, no room would be complete, and the same goes to vanity accessories for your bedroom or bathroom. Accessories can be anything from stools, benches, chairs, or any other seats to beautiful bottles and jars that store your makeup and other cosmetics while adding a bit of beauty and style to your room.

Choosing Vanity Stools

Face it, a vanity without a stool is much like a table without a chair.  Where are you supposed to sit while you apply makeup, brush your hair, or complete any other task necessary of a vanity without a stool?  Most sets include vanity accessories like stools, but sometimes the pieces must be purchased separately.  In this instance, take several vanity stools, benches, and seats on a test run.  Ensure each stool is of the proper height so that you can clearly view yourself in the vanity’s mirror without bumping your knees.  Also, ensure the size is appropriate for the vanity, so that the stool can be store inside the kneehole easily.

Next to the stools, vanity mirrors are probably the most important of the accessories for your vanity.  Before you purchase any mirror, ensure it is of suitable quality, since low quality or cheap mirrors can often distort your image.  If you are planning on using your vanity for makeup application, consider also purchasing a smaller stand mirror with a magnifying side or even attached lights.
