Nature is king once again as individuals strive to make their indoor spaces reflect those of the great outdoors.  Look to trendy natural elements when designing your bathroom or mix and match different looks.  In addition to soothing, natural elements provide an elegant look that is often featured in luxurious spas.  Add a stone vanity to the mix and maximize the design elements.  In addition to a stone vanity, consider adding stone or other natural accessories.  Stone light fixtures are even on the market and add a refreshing look to those standard, boring bathroom fixtures.

Marble, Granite, And Stone Elements

When deciding on the best natural element for your bathroom, consider your needs and wants.  Most natural stones are incredibly durable, but some do require extra attention when it comes to proper cleaning.  For instance, a granite vanity may seem indestructible, but be sure to use the appropriate cleaning products to prevent the porous stone from soaking up stains.  Similarly, marble is incredibly porous and should be properly sealed to prevent problems.  For these reasons, consider against using marble or granite in a child’s bathroom.  In baths that receive a great deal of traffic, consider using man made items that look like a stone vanity.

There are a great amount of man made products on the market that mimic the great look of natural granite or marble but have the heartier properties needed.  Additionally, a vanity made of a man made product is a great deal less expensive than a granite vanity.
