Remember that lovely girl's vanity set that resided in your bedroom as a child or in your best friend’s bedroom that you always wished was yours?  No longer is a girl’s vanity set just for little girls.  Grown women are jumping on the trend and enjoying a special space to call their own.  In all actuality, your mother, grandmother, or even great-grandmother probably had a vanity set in their bedroom, allowing them a spot to store their treasures and to complete their beauty routine.  However, these once-staples of the bedroom soon found themselves out of favor, although they are making a huge comeback in rooms for all ages of girls.

Whether you are purchasing a girls vanity for your child or yourself, do not forget to include the necessary vanity accessories.  Generally, a girl’s vanity set includes these extras, like mirrors and vanity stools, although that is not always the case.  Keep in mind that accessories will probably differ if choosing them for a younger child versus an adult.  For children, consider choosing unbreakable bottles, jars, and the like to house their treasures, and limited cosmetics supply.  For an extra special touch, frame a special photograph of family or friends.

For a more adult vanity set, consider doubling the space and using the vanity for a work space as well.  Use the drawers to stash extra items like bills, electronics, or even a laptop.  If you plan on using the vanity to apply makeup, consider investing in a lighted mirror that includes a regular mirror in addition to a magnified one.
